HMA attending Norshipping 2013 – Visit us on stand B04-27!
For over 50 years, Norshipping has proved to be one of the biggest events in the marine industry, a platform to discuss its latest developments and technologies, as well as meeting its different actors and decision makers. This year again, HMA is attending, and we’re hoping to see you there.

For us, it’s also a great occasion to meet our customers, and exchange ideas and knowledge. This is how we do business. We listen to your challenges, we develop new “out of the box” ways of thinking, and use them to develop top-quality products that in turn will help you achieve greater goals.

From our industry-praised GMR Concept, to our new Ship Energy Efficiency Managment Plan (SEEMP), there are a lot of ways we can help you to be more competitive. Come meet us on our stand B04-27, and find out the solutions we have for your problems.

[March 2013]
HMA receives the order of a total integrated IAS-PMS-ESD-F&G system for the Island Offshore new building 301 at Ulstein.
We feel this as a huge recognition of the quality and performance we have shown on our earlier deliveries to this leading offshore ship owner. As this vessel also will be equipped with well head operation, a SIL ESD/F&G system is to be included in delivery. This new system will be similar to the systems delivered to Island Wellserver, and Island Constructor, but for this delivery it will be a part of the IAS.

This specification also call for a sophisticated redundancy configuration of the overall system, as it will be designed according to the so called "Operation +" philosophy. The basic idea is that "no single failure" shall disable this vessel from operating in DP2. For the PMS, this require a high degree of separation, and communication redundancy. HMA have earlier made similar configurations to drilling vessels with four separate switchboards.

By this order, HMA increases its position as a high quality supplier for complete automation packages to advanced offshore vessels.

Neccecary communication between PMS and DP, what is needed?
Due to a widespread misunderstanding in this field among yards, and owners, HMA have issued a document which explains why there should be no (essential) communication between the PMA and the DP system.
This information have been requested by yards, which need to understand this important issue.
You can download this document here.
Do not hesitate to contact us at: service@hma.no or on phone + 47 33 41 41 50 for more information.

[February 2013]
HMA acquires the Romanian company PATEC
The constant increase of requests for our solutions and our services, have resulted in a demand for more work power.
This will increase our capacity, and we are now better prepared for new challenges in the future.

[January 2013]
HMA receives order for Rieber Shipping newbuilding 300 at Ulstein
This vessel is ordered with a ultra high high reduncancy specification called "operation +", and will require a very sophisticated PMS and IACS for controlling totally six generators connected to four switchboards.

The PMS will include the HMA Demand Based Load Control System (DBLCS), which have become very popular among demanding offshore ship ovners over the last decade. HMA developed this system during the demanding work with the Sea Launch Platform in 1998, whitch requiered a totally new way of controlling variable loads. Since then more than 100 vessels have got this function to administrate the loads on board the vessel.

We feel this order is a confirmation from Rieber, that we have done a good job on the latest vessels delivered to this owner over the past years.

[October 2012]
HMA Energy Management System
To meet the new regulations for ships, Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) RESOLUTION MEPC.213(63) Adopted on 2 March 2012 by Marpol, along with ISO 50001 and ISO14001, HMA has released their Energy Management System (EMS). This product will help their customers to monitor the energy consumption onboard the vessel.

PLC in modern vessels: Are you aware of the risks?
Nowadays, PLCs are very common on modern vessels. But while you have probably worked with it for some time, are you aware of the risks they can represent?
We have created a short presentation of these risks, along with the suggestions that came out of our workshops on how to understand and handle any problem that may occur.

24h Telephone support center
As a result of Høglund Marine Automation AS introducing the Customer Service Program end 2010, we will from February 1st 2011 also introduce a 24 hour a day telephone support center.

A support call center has been highly longed for by our customers even though our individually service engineers availability over the years has been extremely well. To meet our customers ever increasing demand for service as well as organize and maximize the engineers daily work these two services has been jointly established. By implementing a support call center HMA will ensure our customers full availability to one of our expert engineers around the clock independent on place and time. Our telephone support number is (+47) 815 22 502.

The support call center is available and accessible for all customers. For those customers possessing a valid customer service program a dedicated code number must be used for inward dialing. The code is dependent on customer and vessel and may be obtained by the owners. For those customers without a valid customer service program the code 9000 should be used for inward dialing. For those customers our service rates may apply depending on situation. Read More
